Pastoral Care at St John’s

At St John’s, caring for one another is at the heart of our Christian life.
We believe that Christ meets us not only in worship, but also in the everyday moments of joy, challenge, grief, and hope.

Whether you need prayer, a listening ear, or support during a difficult time, you are not alone.
We are here to walk with you.

You Are Not Alone

Every person’s story matters.
The Church is a place where we carry one another’s burdens, celebrate each other’s joys, and hold one another before God in prayer.

If you are:

  • facing illness
  • grieving a loss
  • feeling isolated
  • preparing for a funeral
  • navigating family struggles
  • seeking prayer or spiritual direction

Please reach out.
We are here for you.

Pastoral Visits

Home visits and pastoral conversations are available for those who would like them — whether at home, in hospital, or in aged care facilities.

A quiet conversation, a prayer, or the ministry of Holy Communion can be arranged.

Prayer Requests

If you would like us to pray for you or someone you love, please contact us.
Your request will be held with respect and confidentiality.

Funerals and Memorial Services

The Church offers prayer, compassion, and support at the time of death.
Funerals and memorial services can be arranged in conversation with the Priest, and we are honoured to walk with families through these sacred moments.

If you are planning a funeral or would like guidance, please contact the Parish Priest.

Pastoral Care in Community

Our life together includes:

  • Mothers’ Union
  • parish fellowship
  • prayer support
  • home communions
  • care for the elderly
  • walking with families
  • simple acts of kindness

Pastoral care is the quiet thread that holds our community together.

“Come to me, all who are weary and carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28

If you need support, please reach out.
We are here to listen, to pray, and to stand with you in Christ’s love.
